.New City seal didn't fly. Despite attempts by the Livermore city council majority in the mid-1980s, the populace rebuffed the idea of a new city seal devoid of cowboys and nuclear symbols. This tongue-in-cheek seal idea, depicting a Livermore Cowboy astride a B83 modern strategic bomb, using a cluster

 

of Pinot Noir grapes as a squirt, was presented to then-Livermore Mayor Dale Turner at his 50th birthday party in 1987. It never saw the light of publication until now, however, and will return to obscurity as soon as this book is out of print!{Sorry Barry, it's now online!}
